Early Saturday morning Carl came to Ella’s house to play. Carl
said, “Let’s go outside to play tag. “Ella said Sure why not?’’ BANG!! They ran
out the back door and the door slammed shut.
Ella said, “You can’t catch me!’’ They got tired of running
and wanted to take a break. Ella wanted to go see the flowers, but she did not
see the butterflies there. They walked over to the flowers and a butterfly
right by Ella’s head. ‘’Yikes, she screamed!’’
She ran away.
Carl said, “It is OK!’’ He liked butterflies and thinks
they are friendly. Ella has always been afraid of butterflies and did not
believe Carl. He wanted to show Ella that the were nice. He took Ella’s hand
and they went over to the butterflies bushes. Ella was scared but Carl said, “It
will be fine, Ella.” Suddenly he held his finger out and a butterfly flew on
his finger. It tickled and Carl laughed. Carl took Ella’s finger, but she grabbed
it back because she was still afraid. She cried, “don’t touch me!’’ and ran
back to the house.
Carl had an idea and went into the house to get a glove. He
told her to put it on, so she did because she knew a glove was comfortable. They
went back to the bushes and Ella got brave and put out her finger. Suddenly a
butterfly landed on her finger and she was surprised because it tickled. She
then took off the glove and the butterfly flew back on her finger. She felt very
brave. Her fear of butterflies was over. They were so happy as they walked back
to the house.
